We will be camping for 2 weeks and fresh meat is not easily obtainable. Is there some way I can make a below ground level “cold” storage to keep the meat for up to a week, and then purchase our meat for the 2nd week and keep it the same way?

I don’t know, but this would be something I would like to try.
My Grandfather grew up in a cave in Arkansas, they camp meat in the back of the cave were it was cool.
