Q&A: Where can I find mini storage units in New York or Washington?
Question by Ismail Eliat: Where can I find mini storage units in New York or Washington?
I want a mini storage unit to collect some of items purchased on eBay etc and later ship to me altogether. Where and how can I find small storage units for rent. Thank you.
Thanks Samatha for answer: Well, I live in the Mid-East. If there are for eg: 20 purchases from eBay, then shipping altogether is lot more cheaper and easy than paying shipping charges for every parcel. This is why.

Call the information phone line for a city in New York or Washington….smaller cities will be cheaper than larger ones….just get a map and try from that. They can give you listing numbers in the phone book….”Public Storage” is a major chain all over….but there are also many private small ones.
Another way would be to get hold of a phone book for the state….or city in that state…they are usually available through the local Post Office, and you can purchase them. Then you could study up
on your own….The information line is 411 here in the States…then you ask for the State and city you want.
Thinking about this and what you want to do has a few problems. What you want is an address to store things….a mini storage here has a padlock on it, put on by you…and no one else “usually” can have access to it. It would take special arrangements to send items and have them put in the storage, and to be able to trust no one would steal them. It would be better if you could find a person who would take care of them for you. Something to think about!
Also am curious…why wouldn’t you pick shipping the items to you when you buy them? Wouldn’t that be less expensive than paying storage rental?

NATIONAL EQUALITY MARCH W/ INTERVIEWS (Cleve Jones, Lt. Dan Choi, more)
PLEASE SHARE THIS VIDEO. On October 11, thousands of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight people who support full equality in all 50 states marched on Washington. Many of them were part of a new generation of activists who reject the ping-pong, state-by-state fight for rights after Proposition 8 passed last year, and who are impatient with the slow gradualism of national gay rights organizations such as the Human Rights Campaign, and President Obama, who so far hasn’t lived up to his promise to be a “fierce advocate” for gay rights. Earth Day
By Senator Gaylord Nelson, Founder of Earth Day What was the purpose of Earth Day? How did it start? These are the questions I am most frequently asked. Actually, the idea for Earth Day evolved over a period of seven years starting in 1962. For several years, it had been troubling me that the state of our environment was simply a non-issue in the politics of the country. Finally, in November 1962, an idea occurred to me that was, I thought, a virtual cinch to put the environment into the political “limelight” once and for all. The idea was to persuade President Kennedy to give visibility to this issue by going on a national conservation tour. I flew to Washington to discuss the proposal with Attorney General Robert Kennedy, who liked the idea. So did the President. The President began his five-day, eleven-state conservation tour in September 1963. For many reasons the tour did not succeed in putting the issue onto the national political agenda. However, it was the germ of the idea that ultimately flowered into Earth Day. I continued to speak on environmental issues to a variety of audiences in some twenty-five states. All across the country, evidence of environmental degradation was appearing everywhere, and everyone noticed except the political establishment. The environmental issue simply was not to be found on the nation’s political agenda. The people were concerned, but the politicians were not. After President Kennedy’s tour, I still hoped for some idea that would …
