My hubby had this storage chest that he used when he went away to college over 15 years ago. It’s been in the attic, garage, basement for all these years with an old tent in it. (have no idea why the tent was in it) I wanted to use it for blankets. When I opened it smelled musty. It’s cedar lined but that didn’t stop the odor. How can I get rid of the musty smell?

I just went down to my storage locker in the basement and it smells musty. It did not smell musty a few weeks ago when I went down there. I can’t see any type of visible moisture. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I have been helping my parents to empty out an old storage unit. A few days ago, I brought some boxes to their home, but did not go through them.

Yesterday I went back to the unit to sort out the remaining boxes, and I discovered that the unit had roaches. I am now worried that the boxes I brought from my first trip may have introduced roaches to their home. I took the boxes outside yesterday, where they remain for now, on the back patio.

I do not yet want to call an exterminator because of the price, and because my parents are in poor health, and have pets, so fumigation could be a hassle. Plus, I haven’t seen any bugs yet. But I’m worried that some might have gotten in and they may end up infesting the house, or that they may come in from the boxes that have been outside.

What can I do – before resorting to professionals – to prevent a possible infestation, without compromizing the health of pets or my family? My father has emphysema/COPD and noxious odours bother him a lot.

My labtop is out of room because of my music files. So I need to keep the library somewhere else. I have XP and am using a 60 GB storage drive which matches the size of my ipod. Thanks!
Also will I be able to access the library that I save to the external storage drive on any computer in the future or only the one I have now?
