Question by tstubbs1973: How do I clean out my storage room?
Due to circumstances beyond my control, my old apartment was packed up and all the items there in were put in a storage room, I had to move while I was preggers and was high risk, so I just took what I immediately needed, now almost two years later I am moving into a new place and would like to get rid of stuff I obviously don’t need, but I need to go through the boxes because I didn’t pack them and there may some things I want. Any suggestions on how to do this in a fast, easy, orderly way?

make four “sections” in your living room (or wherever) or use storage bins…one for donate, one for keep, one for sell and one for undecided. as you unpack the boxes, place your items in the appropriate bin or “section” sometimes having a girlfriend help you makes it easier deciding what goes and what stays (sometimes we all need a little objectivity)

Question by AO: Furniture, clothes, etc in storage? How to clean after taking it out?
I have a bed, sofa, tables, chairs, clothes in there for 3 months now. Will my furniture smell bad afterwards? How can I clean the mattress & sofa after taking it out of storage??

It shouldnt smell bad. Wash your clothes as you normally would. I would give all the furniture a quick wipe down with a damp cloth and that should be fine. You can febreeze all fabrics and they will smell wonderful. As long as the storage unit is clean and dry, your items should be fine.

my stuff is going to be in storage for 5 months and the last time i left a bed in there uncovered it became completely infested with bugs. How do I keep my new mattress and box spring clean? Industrial sized saran wrap or what?

Hardware store plastic wrap moth balls and duct tape to seal

Question by Little J: How can I clean corroded chrome on a harley that has been in storage.?
This bike has been in storage and it looks like the chrome is starting to pit. No rust. Any ideas on how to clean the rough stuff.

The best thing I know of is to damp a cloth and dab it in some comet cleaner and rub the pits and rust out, if it’s really bad take aluminum foil and rub into it, then chrome polish the crap out of it
