Question by : Building a desktop PC. Can I use a USB External Hard Drive for storage instead of an internal one?
Will my PC be able to recognise it?

I have some consumer hard drives for storing pictures and stuff on. Can I usb this to the motherboard and use it as my main storage device.

Help appreciated!

Motherboard is Asus P8H61-M LE/USB3 Intel H61 Socket 1155 8 Channel HD Audio mATX

I plan to run Linux Fedora.

Yes. you can use a USB hard drive as a primary drive.

to do it correctly cost a lot. you could just use a heavy duty extension cord.

No enough info to answer…how far is the doghouse?…do you want to tie it in directly to the main breaker board, or simply plug it into an outlet?…could you just hook up an extension cord with a splitter?…How big of a fan and heat lamp?…to many variables to answer without knowing more.

Had a new storage building build recently. It is 12×12 and constructed of unfinished wood siding. Looks very nice with detailed grooves but needs a finish to protect and preserve. Would it be best to paint or stain this type of building?

Stain as this will let the natural wood show thru rather than gloss paint which will cover all the effects of the wood

I am wanting to Build or buy a cheap but sturdy storage shed fully insulated and with one door and i want to put it on concrete for easy clean up and have no idea how to go about this…can someone give me a price or where to look that i can afford because im on a small budget

You might want to look into storage sheds and storage shed kits online. I got a kit that was just hardware for around and plans (around $ 60) and then added my own wood, which cost a few hundred. The whole shed was very inexpensive and easy to do. I could make it any size that I wanted with the kit. I got mine from the site below.
