Question by : How to make a platform bed with storage on a budget?
I don’t have much money to spend on my room. I need storage and I want a bed without a headboard. So, this is perfect. How to make one?

I used a captain’s pedestal from a waterbed to make a platform bed. It has 8 drawers, two cabinets, and enough room down the middle to store five large storage totes. I then placed plywood over the top, screwed it down, and placed the the mattress on top. Once I added a dust ruffle, sheets, and a comforter, it looked like a normal bed, but it had a massive amount of storage.

The top part of the waterbed frame (the part that holds the mattress) I used for other projects.

You might be able to find one on craigslist or a similar website.
