Is it safe to store wood furniture in a storage unit for a few months this winter in Minnesota?

I will be storing 2 dressers from August until February in a non-climate controlled storage unit. I know it’s not the best for it, but I have limited options. I just don’t want it to get ruined. It will be up on pallets to keep the moisture away. Can 6 months really hurt it that much?

Stored wood, unless it is a temperature controlled environment will crack and sometimes warp due to the humidity and moisture. The best thing you may be able to do, is to cover it with plastic and elevate it, and if it is storage, try several boxes of Baking soda to absorb moisture. Also due to mice, etc, a box of mothballs will keep the critters out.
