It depends on how bad the mold is. You need to have someone spray the mold with a bleach and water solution and scrub the walls. Just keep an eye on it after that and make sure if it starts to come back you just repeat the process. Don’t do this yourself though, make sure someone else does it.

You might consider having your local health department come out to your house and check it out. If it is the kind of mold that is hazardous to your health, you shouldn’t be in that room but I don’t think you need to get all stressed out about it. If it were me, I’d have the mold checked out and also consult with my doctor.

    April,

I cant tell you just how dangerous toxic mold is. The person above me says “i dont think you should get all stressed out”. That is absolutely the worst advice you can have on this issue. Toxic mold kills and can cause severe brain damage.

Toxic mold grows in a no sunlight environment with a constant water source like from a leaking pipe inbetween the walls. Your roomate mentioned there was water running down your walls, in my opinion this is 100% toxic mold and is an emergency situation.

The first signs of toxic mold exposure are headaches, respiratory distress often misdiagnoses as asthma, flu like symptoms, extreme fatigue, inabiltiy to concentrate and many many more.

You need to vacate the home immedaitely and take nothing with you except for clothes you will wash immediately as the toxic mold spores will be on everthing and be everywhere.

If your health declines you will need some strong anti fungal meds immediately. Good luck and God Bless
