How should I pack china & crystal for safe long-term storage?

We have a tiny kitchen, so I need to box up extra settings of the nice china & crystal my grandmother gave me and place them in storage (climate-controlled storage). What’s the best way to pack them up safely?

Will newspaper or flexible styrofoam-type padding damage them? Or should I wrap them in clean cloth rags instead? Other ideas are welcome, thank you!

Purchase a $10.00 box of bubble-wrap from Walmart. Don’t use newspaper as the newsprint can rub off onto the china and damage it. You can use the styrofoam padding or pellets for around the outer edges of the boxes, on the inside.

Wrap the china & crystal in newspapers. Then, use styrofoam padding.

I would use bubble wrap. Have had great results with that.
Flat pieces between each plate, each crystal piece individually.
